Overview
NRG, in partnership with QE Facilities (QEF), seeks a Non-Executive Director to support QEF's growth and Corporate Strategy. QE Facilities (QEF) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust (GHFT), employing over 900 staff and generating £80m+ turnover through estates, facilities, pharmacy logistics and other support services. Our vision is to facilitate the delivery of exceptional healthcare through quality and innovation; our Corporate Strategy focuses on Championing our People, being Quality Focused, and Fit for the Future.
We are seeking a Non-Executive Director to support the delivery of our vision and Corporate Strategy.
Key Responsibilities
* Contribute to the development of QEF’s vision, commercial strategy and objectives, ensuring alignment with GHFT; provide independent scrutiny and challenge on strategy, performance, quality and governance; seek assurance over the delivery of plans, objectives and KPIs.
* Help the Board fulfil statutory, regulatory and fiduciary obligations and ensure QEF operates within its governance framework.
* Play an active role in Board discussions, offering external perspective, constructive challenge and support to the QEF Executive Team; monitor performance (operational, financial and strategic) and governance.
* Uphold the highest standards of probity, integrity and corporate governance; champion equality, diversity and inclusion across the organisation and beyond.
Experience and qualifications
* Expertise in estates and facilities management, pharmacy operations, transport and logistics, or a closely related area.
* Strong financial and commercial acumen with the ability to think strategically, act independently, and influence effectively at Board level.
* Proven Board-level or senior leadership experience in a complex organisation; awareness of shareholder relationships and regulated sectors is highly advantageous.

* Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder engagement skills.
