Position: Behaviour Mentor
Location: Southampton
Hours: Full-time (8.30am – 3.30pm)
Start Date: ASAP / September start
The School & Role:
An Alternative Provision school based in Southampton are currently seeking a Behaviour Mentor to start with them from September. The school caters for primary and secondary aged pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs, as well as challenging behaviour. The successful SEMH Behaviour Mentor will be required to work 1-1 or in small classes, assisting pupils academically as well as overcoming barriers to learning and supporting them emotionally.
What You’ll Do:
✨ Supporting students with autism in both classroom and extracurricular activities
✨ Implementing individualised support plans and strategies
✨ Promoting positive behaviour and social interaction
✨ Assisting with communication and sensory needs
✨ Building trusting relationships with students to encourage independence and confidence
What We’re Looking For:
Experience of working with children in an educational setting
Experience of working with pupils with SEND/SEMH/challenging behaviour
A passion for the progress of pupils
Resilience and adaptability in a dynamic environment
An ability to work as part of a team
