The Governors of Aberdare Community School are seeking to appoint a passionate and dynamic Teacher of Design Technology to join this popular department.
This post represents an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and creative Design and Technology specialist to join a thriving department and to work with a very supportive team, housed in exceptional, state of the art facilities. You would have access to three workshops, including two laser cutters and four 3D printers.
The successful candidate will have proven expertise in delivering all aspects of Design Technology at Key Stage 3. You will also bring essential experience in teaching Engineering, Construction, and Product Design at Key Stages 4 and 5. A thorough understanding of the WJEC specification is vital to this role.
As we introduce the new Curriculum for Wales, we’re looking for someone confident in contributing fresh ideas to engage and motivate our learners. Above all, you’ll be a strong team player, eager to collaborate and support the growth of our department.
What We’re Looking For:
•Experience delivering Design Technology across Key Stage 3
•Proven success in teaching Engineering, Construction, and Product Design at Key Stages 4 and 5
•Excellent knowledge of the WJEC specification
•Enthusiasm for innovative teaching and curriculum development
•A collaborative and supportive team member.
The successful candidate will embed whole school and departmental teaching and learning strategies, to raise attainment across the Design and Technology department.
The school opened in the summer of 2015 and is part of the 21st Century school building programme. The school is attached to the Sobell Leisure Centre which offers extensive opportunities for pupils, including an all-weather playing facility and newly opened athletics stadium.
