Job Description
The Role:
This role forms an intermediate between the commercial and laboratory teams, as the go to for technical support within customer services. The role involves dealing with and responding to technical queries and enquiries from customers and internally, as well as performing tasks to support the technical delivery of testing and projects.
Main Duties:
* To deal with and respond to technical queries and enquiries from internal and external stakeholders.
* To support with product assessments to enable booking-in and testing to commence.
* To undertake contract review (checking customer test requests) and perform the allocation of testing.
* To manage key products and services as they develop inclusive of (but not limited to) Cotton Origin Verification, Chem-ST, etc.
* To support with technical report writing as required.
* To support with the LIMS system, creating quotations and updating the system as required.
* To identify where there may be problems achieving customer expectations and escalate when required.
* To coordinate with other report writers to achieve on-time or early delivery.
* Performing any other reasonable duties to assist the testing team and the business.
Qualifications
What We Are Looking For:
* Degree educated in chemistry, biochemistry, or relevant subject area and proven experience in leather or textile supply chains and/or chemical industry or relevant experience working in a chemical testing laboratory.
* Ability to communicate appropriately and effectively with colleagues.
* A driven, enthusiastic, and confident individual with outstanding communication skills.
* Be able to demonstrate good organisational skills and rigorous attention to detail.
* Demonstrates a self-motivated, positive “can do” attitude, and ability to work to tight deadlines and competing demands in a busy commercial environment.
* Demonstrate initiative and ability to multi-task and plan work effectively and work on their own when required.
* Must have the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in written form.
* Computer literate and confident using Microsoft Office and ideally have experience with data management systems such as CRM’s.
* A flexible approach to working additional hours when required.
