Job Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Advanced Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our Child Disability Team. This is a Band 7 permanent post for 15 hours per week (2 days) based at Cimla Hospital, Neath.

This is a community-based role requiring travel between clinics, client's homes and Local Authority buildings.

The successful applicant will work opposite an established Advanced Clinical Nurse Specialist to ensure the service offers cover 5 days a week.

Main duties of the job

The AdvancedClinical Nurse Specialist


* Participates in assessing, planning,deliveringand evaluating care for patients/clients as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

Offers specialist support to the team with complex families in the service.

Works within the ALN framework, carry outanddelegate responsibilities as needed and willmaintainrecord keeping in line with professional and health boardpolicies, delegated administration,and clerical duties.

Providesa family centred public health service bycontributing toassessing any emerging ALN needs through a multidisciplinary focused environment to support children and their families within the ALN process.

Actively works in partnership with members of the child disability team, wider health visiting team and voluntary and statutory agencies asappropriate toensure transparency andefficiency of the ALN process, attending meetings as needed.

Qualifications & Knowledge

Essential criteria

* Registered Nurse & current NMC registration
* Masters Degree or equivalent experience - specialist qualifications, expert level of knowledge in clinical speciality
* Knowledge of service improvement
* Awareness of current developments within the NHS

Desirable criteria

* Teaching qualification (or equivalent experience)
* Management qualification (or equivalent experience)

Experience

Essential criteria

* Experience in the relevant specialty. Experience of working in a multiprofessional environment
* Experience of managing a ward area/department
* Experience of working with preregistration nursing/midwifery students in a mentorship role
* Experience of undertaking audit
* Experience of using reflective learning to support the development of self and staff

Desirable criteria

* Experience of participating in research

Essential criteria

* Adhere to & can demonstrate SBU values & behaviours
* Able to demonstrate effective leadership and management skills
* Evidence of undertaking presentations to groups
* Ability to use electronic systems / IT proficiency
