Following a period of continual growth, we are excited to be recruiting a Director of Business Development to join the team. The role is a senior position within the management team and reports directly to the Chief Business Officer .
Location :
Antrim, NI. This position offers a hybrid model - 2 days a week on customer sites and remote work. Frequent travel to GB, Europe will be required. Some travel to the USA and Canada may be required.
Role Description
The primary objective of the Director of Business Development is to maximise sales TCV and Annual Recurring Revenue. The suitable candidate will be target driven and hungry to achieve results, they will have the ability to forge effective commercial relationships at CxO level and will be able to use their tenacity and experience to drive value. They will need to believe in the vision and values of Skylark and to be able to translate that in their proposals and propositions.
You will be expected to bring to fore a combination of market knowledge, industry experience, competition insights and personal networks and relationships to help Skylark drive growth in its SaaS business. Key expectations from the role are as below.
* Identifying white spaces in the renewable energy and utilities markets that are underpenetrated and/or underserved through the existing proliferation of technology.
* Help shape and appropriately message Skylark offerings and capabilities to service the white spaces above.
* Assist in identifying key stakeholders and facilitating connections to proactively position Skylark solutions to buyers and help develop such conversations.
* Assist and guide Skylark solution teams in responding to RFPs and market tenders esp. from the perspective of strategic positioning and alignment of Skylark proposals with client ask and expectations.
* Support marketing events as industry voice of authority including but not limited to shaping Skylark messaging and positioning.
* Bring proactive and/or targeted market intelligence as appropriate.
Qualifications:
* Proven skills in New Business Development and Lead Generation at Senior Level
* Expertise in Business Planning and strategic growth initiatives
* Strong abilities in Contract Negotiation and building mutually beneficial agreements
* Experience in Account Management and fostering long-term client relationships
* Exceptional communication, organisational, and leadership skills
* Ability to adapt to a hybrid work environment with occasional travel
* Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; MBA is a plus
* Experience in the renewable energy or technology industry is an advantage
