Job Overview
Senior Business Development & M&A Manager – opening doors, creating opportunities and getting deals done. Operate with senior leaders across local authorities, ICBs and health & care organisations to spot opportunities early, shape them before procurement and build relationships that lead to growth.

Main Duties
Meet a Director of Adult Social Services about a £20m+ opportunity one day; review acquisition targets with advisors, shape Heads of Terms the next; and consistently engage with senior stakeholders to progress complex deals.

Experience
Experience in health and social care, public sector sales, commissioning, business development or M&A is important. A track record of winning work, influencing decision-makers and progressing complex deals matters more.
Ability to build trust quickly, think strategically and create momentum is essential.
Qualifications
Essential:
* Relevant degree or demonstrable equivalent experience.
Desirable:
* Masters
* Evidence of continued professional development
Knowledge
Essential:
* Demonstrable experience in senior business development roles with full pipeline ownership.
* Strong track record of engaging and influencing Director and C‑suite stakeholders.
* Experience within social healthcare, public sector, or B2G markets.
* Experience managing multiple projects, leads, and stakeholders simultaneously.
* Evidence of contributing to strategic growth initiatives beyond core sales activity.
Desirable:
* Proven ability to generate opportunities from a cold start (cold desk experience).
* Experience in M&A activity, including sourcing, evaluating, or supporting transactions.
* Track record of engaging commissioners ahead of formal tender processes.
* Ability to identify and act on market trends to create commercial opportunities.
