About the Role
This role will be office based in Aylesford, Kent with expected travel across the UK and occasionally Europe. This role will also have a car allowance.
This is a rare and exciting opportunity to take on a pivotal leadership role within a high‑performing fundraising team, driving the growth of vital income that supports veterans now and for generations to come.
Working closely with the Director of Fundraising, you will lead the strategic delivery and performance of RBVE’s Community & Events fundraising portfolio, shaping the direction of a function that has seen significant year‑on‑year growth. Your leadership will ensure the charity continues to build on this momentum, maximising supporter engagement and long‑term value.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead Community & Events strategy — driving sustainable income growth and supporter engagement.
* Manage and develop the Community & Events team — ensuring high performance, motivation, and delivery against ambitious targets.
* Oversee delivery of fundraising campaigns and events — ensuring excellence, innovation, and supporter‑centred experiences.
* Collaborate across the wider fundraising function — supporting integrated income growth across the charity.
* Monitor performance and reporting — ensuring data‑driven decision‑making and continuous improvement.
About You
You will be a confident, strategic, and inspiring leader with the ability to balance big‑picture thinking with hands‑on delivery. You bring:
* Significant line management experience within a fundraising or third‑sector environment.
* Proven success in Community & Events fundraising, with a track record of income growth.
* Strong organisational skills, able to manage multiple priorities and remain calm under pressure.
* A collaborative approach, working effectively with internal teams and external partners.
* A passion for delivering exceptional supporter experiences and building long‑term relationships.
