On July 1, 2025, IPL Plastics merged with Schoeller Allibert to form IPL Schoeller (the ‘company’). The company’s operations are split across North America (11 manufacturing plants) and Europe (16 manufacturing plants). The company is headquartered in Dublin, Ireland and employs approximately 4,100 employees across North America (1,600 employees) and Europe (2,500 employees).
The role
As EHS Manager, you will be part of the Site Management team and will play a critical role in ensuring that our operations are compliant with environmental, health, and safety standards.
* Your expertise will develop, implement, and manage our environmental health and safety programmes and ensure compliance with EA requirements.
* Collaborate closely with various departments to identify potential risks, promote best practices, and foster a culture of safety within the organisation.
* Have a comprehensive understanding of EHS regulations and navigate complex compliance frameworks to ensure our procedures and documents meet requirements.
* Influence sustainability initiatives by aligning safety protocols with environmentally responsible practices. Lead accident prevention strategies and incident investigations.
* Empower teams to achieve outstanding safety performance while minimizing environmental impacts, aligning with our commitment to operational excellence and sustainability.
* Develop and implement EHS policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant EHS regulations and standards, such as ISO 45001 & ISO 9001.
* Provide training and guidance to all employees on EHS best practices and regulatory requirements.
* Monitor, analyze and report on EHS performance metrics to drive continuous improvement.
* Lead incident investigations and develop corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
* Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify non-conformances, safety hazards and areas for improvement, developing action plans where required.
* Provide appropriate guidance and direction at site level with interventions as required to remove obstacles.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to incorporate EHS considerations into operational projects and processes.
* Stay up to date with industry trends and regulatory changes to ensure ongoing compliance and best practices.
* Collaborate cross-functionally to build trust and deliver global EHS programmes.
Qualifications and experience
* General qualification in Occupational Safety, Environment or a related field.
* Professional certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH or equivalent standard.
* 3 to 5 years of experience in Environmental Health and Safety management, preferably in the manufacturing sector.
* Strong knowledge of EHS regulations and standards relevant to the industry; packaging and manufacturing.
* Knowledge of or previous experience working within a waste recycling plant would be beneficial, as would experience adhering to an EA waste recycling permit.
