Shift Leader pay: starting from £14.76 per hour; this increases to £15.97 per hour for stores inside the M25. Additional payments may apply depending on location.
It’s our policy to offer new colleagues a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours each week. If you’d prefer fewer hours, a minimum of 12 hours is possible.
Customers are at the heart of everything we do. As a Shift Leader you will oversee store operations, support colleagues and help ensure a smooth, customer-focused experience from the shop floor.
Responsibilities
* Work in a fast-paced retail environment with variety.
* Take ownership of running duty shifts, coordinating the team to deliver a clean, well-stocked store that exceeds customer expectations.
* Be available to assist customers, listening to their needs and helping them leave with what they came for.
* Coach colleagues and provide feedback to improve service.
* Guide and support colleagues to maintain a safe place to work and shop.
* Understand store performance and assist managers in delivering actions to improve operations.
* Lead from the front and set a positive example for the team.

You will be responsible for
* Coordinating the store team to deliver an easy, fuss-free shopping experience for customers.
* Supporting colleagues to deliver daily priorities and take regular breaks.
* Opening and closing the store and ensuring duty cover is in place with safety in mind.
* Being the go-to person for colleagues in the absence of a manager for day-to-day queries.
* Ensuring the store is clean, tidy, and well-presented.
* Supporting managers to coordinate seasonal, community and charity events.
* Contributing to a great, inclusive team atmosphere.
* Providing excellent customer service by listening to customers and putting them first.
* Keeping the team informed of communications, changes, or updates.
* Staying knowledgeable about store performance and looking for ways to improve operations.
* Coordinating store improvements and removing obstacles to service excellence.
* Following health and safety routines and ensuring colleagues do the same.
* Recognising and celebrating colleagues who deliver great service.
