Your new company, Hays Accountancy & Finance, is recruiting a Finance Business Partner on behalf of our client, an organization supporting individuals and families living with disabilities, autism, and brain injuries. The role is crucial in ensuring organizational effectiveness, compliance with external and internal reporting requirements, and supervising various functions within the finance department, primarily focusing on management accounts, variance analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and staff management. Staff development and mentoring are key aspects of this role.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Contribute to Finance Improvement Plans for services.
2. Assist with grant applications and claims.
3. Support grant and verification audits.
4. Lead supplier contract reviews and renewals, including tender processes.
5. Prepare monthly management accounts reports, including variance analysis.
6. Oversee budgeting and forecasting processes.
7. Provide project management support.
8. Ensure compliance with statutory returns (e.g., Companies House, Charity Commission).
9. Promote GDPR compliance and cybersecurity within the department.
10. Line management and staff training, including support and mentoring.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACA, CIPFA, or ACCA).
* At least 3 years' experience in a finance function within a large, diverse organization.
* Experience in management accounts, forecasting, and budgeting.
* Knowledge of ISO systems or other quality management systems.
Desirable Criteria:
* Experience with grant funding, including grant claims and applications.
* Experience in managing and mentoring staff.
