Nursery: Bright Horizons Colchester Day Nursery and Preschool

Salary: From £31,262.40 per annum (dependant on qualification/s and experience)

Location: Colchester

We are looking for a full time, Level 3+ qualified Deputy Manager to join our Bright Horizons Colchester Nursery.

The nursery is a stunning 108 place setting in a beautiful purpose built setting which will feature spacious rooms and garden areas, perfect for plenty of outdoor teaching and learning! It has great public transport links, as well as some onsite parking.

What you’ll be doing

9. Lead, mentor and inspire a team to deliver exceptional care and education to all children in our care

10. Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead at the nursery, holding overall responsibility for the day to day running of the nursery, and management of safeguarding and child protection policies

11. In collaboration with the Nursery Manager, contribute to succession planning, identification and delivery of relevant training, and supporting professional development plans, including coaching and mentoring for all colleagues

12. Develop and maintain strong partnerships with colleagues, parents and/or carers, as well as other professionals, to meet the needs of each child

13. Promote the nursery to both current parents, and potential customers, to support retention and ongoing occupancy growth

14. Ensure commercial success of the nursery by maintaining expenditure inline FTEs and budget KPIs

15. Engage with the Local Authority to understand the local offer, to support practice in all areas of the nursery

What we’re looking for

16. Full and Relevant Level 3 or above Early Years qualification (essential)

17. Experience within an Early Years leadership role (ideally as a Deputy Manager, Assistant Manager, Third in Charge or similar)

18. Experience of participating with a regulatory inspection, leading to a “Good” or “Outstanding” outcome

19. Confident decision maker, with previous experience providing support and leadership to others to enable staff in fulfilling their roles and responsibilities

20. Strong knowledge and understanding of Safeguarding, Child Protection, and the wider legislative requirements for working with children

21. Ability to build trust and strong working relationships with both colleagues and parents

22. Ability to use a variety of communication techniques with both children and adults
