Job Description:
The role: Requires critical analysis of clinical information to advocate for best practice treatment and timely recovery to enable the injured person to move forward with their life as soon as possible. Working within a passionate team of allied health professionals, you will be supported to learn and thrive in this demanding role.
What you’ll do (not limited to):
1. Work alongside the claims team leader and technical advisor to create a high-performing team delivering positive outcomes to injured people and driving shareholder value.
2. Review claim files and provide subject matter expertise, including interpreting medical reports, providing injury management advice, and determining rehabilitation and treatment requirements.
3. Prepare professional written and verbal advice to claims advisors on treatment and rehabilitation services, and recommendations for future management.
4. Provide consistent injury management expertise to ensure quality decisions and contribute to claims strategy.
5. Share knowledge, coach, and mentor claims advisors to develop injury management capabilities.
6. Build external relationships with treatment and service providers to meet recovery goals.
7. Support the injury management team leader in identifying development opportunities to improve performance and outcomes.
What you will bring:
1. Degree in Allied Health related discipline (mandatory).
2. Minimum 2 years clinical and/or occupational rehabilitation experience (desirable).
3. Ability to prioritize work independently.
4. Proficiency with technology platforms to manage caseloads.
5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
6. Effective decision-making in a timely manner within delegated authority.
7. Willingness to develop skills for managing difficult conversations with injured people, health professionals, and legal professionals.
