Overview
Our client has a strong commitment to Safeguarding and they are seeking a suitably qualified individual to join them on a fixed‑term contract to support the work of the team. The post holder will support the Diocesan Safeguarding Officer (DSO) in investigating allegations of abuse, ensuring that they are appropriately referred to statutory authorities and providing advice and support to survivors and victims of abuse.
Responsibilities
The post holder will assist the Safeguarding team in ensuring that those who pose a risk are appropriately supported and monitored, and will have day‑to‑day working relationships with a small Safeguarding team, local authority bodies, parishes across the diocese and diocesan employees. They will work with a range of professionals and stakeholders.
Qualifications
Successful candidates should be qualified Social Workers, Police or Probation Workers with relevant experience in safeguarding children and vulnerable adults, complex case management and the ability to undertake comprehensive risk assessments. Flexibility is allowed; applicants are invited to detail how their background meets these requirements. Experience within the Church of England is not required, but the post holder should be sympathetic to the aims and values of the Church.
