Job Description:
RECRUITMENTiQ is currently working in partnership with a business that is widely regarded as industry leading and innovative within our sector. The company focuses on the design and manufacture of container handling changeparts.
Our design team is responsible for producing solutions to meet our customers' varying needs, whether it be introducing new products on a packaging line or solving existing problems. Minimising downtime is key in any production environment, and our products contribute to improved efficiencies in this area.
This role requires taking complete ownership of projects from initial customer enquiry, through design, to inspecting manufactured parts prior to dispatch.
While there are common key skills and tasks involved, there are always opportunities for development or expansion in the role.
KEY TASKS
* Developing and maintaining customer relationships
* Assessing customer requests to provide the best solutions for their needs
* Carrying out on-site survey visits of customer equipment using 3D metrology grade scanners for product installation
* Providing bespoke solutions based on our product range using the latest 3D Autodesk modelling techniques
* Providing innovative solutions to customer issues that expand our existing product portfolio
* Participating in design review meetings with customers
* Producing detailed part and assembly drawings for manufacture
* Preparing purchase requisitions and bill of material files
* Using CAM software to program parts for CNC machinery
Education requirements:
* Minimum HND Qualification in a Product or Mechanical Design Engineering discipline
* Post-qualification work experience in an engineering design role, demonstrating strong experience with large quantity assemblies and machined components
* Proven, deep working knowledge of Autodesk Inventor & AutoCAD software
* Good time management skills to meet production schedules
* Effective communication & interpersonal skills, capable of working independently or as part of a team
* Proficient in Microsoft Office
* Previous experience in a design/manufacturing role; experience in the packaging industry is a plus
* Valid driving licence and passport; occasional global travel required
* CAM software experience
* Understanding of ISO 9001 systems
* Awareness of Health & Safety legislation
Working hours:
Full-time, 39 hours/week, Monday-Thursday (8:00-17:00) & Friday (8:00-13:00). ***This is a fully office-based role.***
