Base pay range

Core subject (Maths, English, or Science) SEN / SEND Tutors for Young People with SEND, SEMH, and other Additional Educational Needs required in Norfolk.

Multiple positions are available, and hiring is ongoing to meet the wide variety of needs we support.

We are on a mission to transform the quality of education provided to young people with SEN (Special Education Needs) / SEND (Special Education Needs and Disabilities), as well as other needs such as SEMH needs (Social, Emotional and Mental Health). We are increasing support for children and young people with MLD (Moderate Learning Difficulties) and SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties).

We are looking for SEN / SEND tutors with a genuine passion for transforming the lives of disengaged, at-risk, and vulnerable learners in Norfolk.

At Targeted Provision, our mission is to raise the standard of educational support offered to vulnerable young people in the UK. You will be supported throughout every placement by our team of SEN / SEND Support Specialists.

This role is perfect for qualified SEN / SEND teachers eager to work via 1:1 tutoring with children and young people with various learning needs, in a creative, flexible, holistic, and trauma-informed manner, to increase their engagement and improve their educational outlook.

The SEN / SEND Tutor Role

* Providing Maths, English, or Science tuition to young people with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, or other Educational Needs referred by local authorities and schools
* Supporting their educational and social-emotional development through flexible, trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring


SEN / SEND Tutor Responsibilities

* Planning engaging, needs-based sessions
* Delivering holistic support to meet educational and social-emotional needs
* Completing lesson reports and providing progress feedback


Requirements for SEN / SEND Tutors

* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS / QTLS)
* Minimum 2 years teaching experience
* Experience with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, or related needs
* Understanding of safeguarding processes
* Enhanced DBS (assistance available)
* Two professional references
* Right to work in the UK

It is essential that you can promote the health, safety, and wellbeing of children and follow safeguarding policies.


Employment Status

* Engagement as a Worker for short-term placements
* Paid via PAYE; no set hours or expenses covered
* Insurance covers your work; this is not a self-employed role

Relevant Roles/Experience

Ideal candidates may have worked as:

* SENCo, SLD/MLD Teacher, Autism/ADHD Support Teacher, Intervention Specialist, or Ex-Teacher

Other relevant roles include Learning Support Assistant, Educational Therapist, Speech and Language Therapist, Educational Psychologist, or Inclusion Coordinator. If you meet the requirements and are considering a career change, apply with us.
