Doggy Styling is a high end and unique grooming salon and dog boutique, a home from home for our four-legged friends. This is a fantastic opportunity for an apprentice dog groomer to join our team and learn on the job. The goal is to progress to a stylist position. This is an exciting opportunity to join this salon that is part of an already thriving high end business in the Surrey area. This role will include: Preparing dogs to specification, ready to be groomed by the stylist, tasks include: bathing, drying, nail clipping and rough trimming Learning and following direction from a grooming trainer Assist in ensuring excellent salon presentation is maintained and high standards are kept through cleanliness, safety and good standards of housekeeping Hours are: 9.15am to 6pm with 30 min lunch, Tuesday to Saturday Desired Skills & Personal Qualities: Experience working and handling dogs in a professional grooming environment, preferable Have experience working in a fast paced environment Have excellent communication skills as you will be dealing with doggy parents Must be enthusiastic, willing to learn and have a real passion for dogs (Please ensure you show examples of above in your application) Ideally we are looking for a local and enthusiastic candidate that we can rely on Desired Qualifications: Maths & English GCSE’s Training Full training to be provided by the employer and KEITS at the place of employment. The applicant will be working towards a Level 2 Dog Groomer Apprenticeship The learner will be allocated an industry specific training consultant who will provide both remote and on site visits throughout the apprenticeship. The apprentice will work towards an End Point Assessment (EPA) at the end of their apprenticeship.
