An interesting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Engineer (KSH salary band) level to work within the Active Travel Infrastructure Team in the Road Safety and Active Travel Group.
This is a great opportunity for a motivated individual that has the knowledge, understanding and passion to make active travel (walking, wheeling and cycling) more accessible for all.
We are looking for an individual with a passion and proven track record in the design of highway improvements and the delivery of high quality services in the highway sector. The role will be making the highway safer for all, tackling congestion and assisting in supporting growth within Kent.
We work as a whole-council, putting our customers at the heart of everything we do so you will need to demonstrate that you are customer focused. The role requires strong communication skills and will involve working closely with our Members and District/Borough/Parish Councillors. The ability to actively project manage and be accountable for delivering schemes on time and to budget is essential.
You must be well organised, numerate, attentive to detail and have excellent IT skills as well as having excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
You need to be flexible, adaptable, enjoy working in a team, be able to manage competing demands by careful prioritisation and switch between tasks. You also need to be able to work on your own initiative with minimum supervision.
The ability to travel across a wide geographical area in a timely and flexible manner at various times of the day is essential.
