Job overview

To act as a professional specialist member of a multi-disciplinary team and be responsible for implementing Trust-wide, all engineering infrastructure operations, maintenance and selected capital /BLM projects. Lead AP for multiple disciplines: Electrical LV /HV, Lifts and Medical Gas, building management controls and Hospital infrastructure. Post Holder will report to the Estates Manager Higher Level Operations


Main duties of the job

Estate statutory compliance for assigned disciplines.

Lead AP for assigned disciplines across all PAH sites.

A key member of the Directorate Management Team, contributing to the strategic and operational and general management of the Directorate and ensuring that Estates strategies and policies are strictly adhered to.

Represent the Estates Operational team on Capital Project Boards to ensure that appropriate standards are applied to capital developments, take handover of completed projects, and adopt new assets into the ongoing servicing, repairs, and maintenance Regimes.

Oversee the maintenance of the Trust estate and off-site properties ensuring compliance with the Trust, DoH, statutory and any other management requirements as well as ensuring cross-directorate and Trust wide engagement.

Providing strong leadership and robust performance management framework for all staff within scope of responsibility and manage appropriately a range of complex information systems.

Person specification


education

* Degree (or HNC plus equivalent knowledge and experience) in Mechanical, Electrical or Buildings Services Engineering or equivalent Degree or Post Graduate Diploma in Management or equivalent
* Evidence of continuous professional development in the field of estates, facilities or sustainability
* Extensive technical knowledge of Mech/Elec plant & equipment


Experience

* Proven experience managing a large team of technical, skilled and unskilled staff
* Experience of utilising CAFM/CMMS/BMS/BIMS systems and computer controls


Skills

* Detailed knowledge of H & S legislation and requirements
* Management of non-skilled, skilled and professional staff
* In depth knowledge of all HTMs, HBN’s and other DoH Guidance. Knowledge of NHS/DoH/ CQC standards and requirements
