The Role Reporting to the Despatch Manager and to the shift manager out of hours the Team Leader will be expected to: Lead Health and Safety – Leadership and coaching in raising hazards and holding safety for life conversations, accident reporting and investigation, also to drive a culture of health and safety by acting as a role model. Allocate resource accordingly to achieve the planned workload. Train and mentor Operators to develop them in all areas of despatch. Ensure department adheres to all company procedure and SSOW. Give regular toolbox talks to the team. Provide daily feedback on shift activity and to lead Short Interval Control (SIC) Ensure all work is performed in a safe manner according to site standards. Contact key customers out of hours in the event of a supply issue. Liaise with all departments to ensure that a high level of OTIF is achieved. Work in a predominantly forklift truck-based role encompassing general warehouse duties such as palletisation, take-off from production, storage, despatch, order picking, loading, sorting, light production work, and housekeeping. Ensure all load plans are executed on time in full for customer service. Raise delivery documentation and controlling drivers. Ensure physical stock movements and locations are always maintained in COBIS warehouse management system. Communicate with the customer service team. Ensure stock accuracy including aged stock. Be responsible for end of shift reporting and performance management of shift and Warehouse control. Be responsible for team performance and development. Lead by example. The following attributes would be a distinct advantage: Experience of leading a team Able to communicate at all levels. Must be able to work under own initiative. An understanding of Health and Safety Must have appropriate fork-lift truck experience in high-volume fast-moving goods environment. Must be reliable, motivated, and with proven Warehouse/Production experience and understanding. Can do attitude, willingness to work some overtime and ability to work to deadlines and follow procedures. Communication skills and be able to work as part of a team. Great attention to detail and accuracy Candidates will be self-motivated, conscientious individuals willing to be flexible and work a rotating annualised hours on a 3-shift pattern including night shift.
