Trust Resident Doctor ST3/4 (MN37), Dermatology

We are seeking an enthusiastic Trust Resident Doctor to join our Dermatology Team. This is a 12 month fixed term full time post but may be extended. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone wishing to pursue a career in dermatology.
The successful candidate will join an established team of 21 Consultants. There is support from 1 Associate Specialist, 3 Specialty doctors and specialist dermatology nurses including 2 skin cancer specialist nurses and 2 paediatric specialist dermatology nurses.
The department also has 1 SPR, 2 clinical fellows and 1 VTS trainee. Services available include day case surgery, paediatric dermatology, phototherapy, photodynamic therapy, patch testing and iontophoresis. Specialist Joint Leg Ulcer, Vulval and Male Genital Dermatoses clinics are held and we have an outreach Plastic Surgery service from the Royal Free Hospital.
The successful applicant will be offered educational supervision by a Consultant for SPR applications and CESR training if required. The post-holder will work with colleagues to support and develop Dermatology services for the local population. You will be based at Watford General Hospital, Hemel Hempstead Hospital, or St Albans City Hospital.
Main duties of the job
The candidate will undertake outpatient clinics including specialist clinics, a surgical session, management of inpatients and attendance and skin cancer MDT. There will be no on-call requirements.
Applicants must have full GMC registration. MRCP (UK) and previous experience in dermatology is desirable.

Job responsibilities
The Trust Resident Doctor appointed will have continuing responsibility for the care of patients in his/her charge. He/she will also undertake the administrative duties associated with the care of his/her patients. He/she should have ability to work within our large team of consultants, junior doctors, nurses and administrative staff. He/she will be supervised by a consultant dermatologist.
Management of the Dermatology Department is under the direction of Kylie Beattie, Dermatology Service Manager.
Person Specification
Education and qualifications:
* Full registration with the GMC
* MRCP
Knowledge:
* Ability to demonstrate broad skills in management of all patients
* Previous experience in dermatology and dermatological surgery
Experience:
* An enthusiasm for medical audit
