Pastoral Lead
Location: Northamptonshire
Contract Type: Full-time / Term Time + 2 weeks
Salary: £25,000–£30,000 (depending on experience and qualifications)
Start Date: September 2025
We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Pastoral Lead to play a key role in our pastoral care team at our dynamic and inclusive secondary school in Northamptonshire.
The Pastoral Lead will work closely with Heads of Year, the safeguarding team, and teaching staff to support students' wellbeing, attendance, behaviour, and emotional development. This is a pivotal role in promoting a positive school culture where all students feel safe, valued, and supported.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead on pastoral support for a year group or key stage
* Build strong relationships with students, families and staff
* Monitor and support attendance, behaviour, and safeguarding concerns
* Deliver or coordinate interventions to improve student wellbeing
* Liaise with external agencies when appropriate
We’re looking for someone who:
* Has experience in a pastoral, youth work, or education setting
* Has strong interpersonal and organisational skills
* Is calm under pressure and emotionally resilient
* Shares our commitment to inclusion, safeguarding, and high expectations

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
