What matters to us
* Site experience on a minimum of five projects, culminating at agent level.
* Proven successful estimating experience in civil engineering, including undertaking the role of Senior estimator.
* Extensive variety in types of work priced.
* Experience of public sector clients and private sector clients.
* IT Literate.
Your contribution to our company
* Ensure that accurate project proposals, programmes & budgets are developed efficiently, timely, and in accordance with the approved business strategy.
* Attend meetings following bid submissions, negotiate, and record all changes to the tender price required.
* Develop and manage the structure and organization within the estimating team.
* Liaise on resources and business processes to ensure the Estimating resource pool is appropriate in size and skill set for the projected workload.
* Appoint suitable Senior Estimators, Estimators, Planning Engineers & Engineers to projects based on experience, skills, and knowledge.
* Produce discipline-specific outputs consistently and to standards.
* Hold the estimating team accountable for performance against schedules and budgets.
* Arrange and chair estimating meetings.
* Review, challenge, and approve project estimates considering design level, information, risks, planning, HSSE, and third parties.
* Collaborate with site commercial teams to ensure estimating budgets & programmes reflect actual delivery experience.
* Work with clients and relevant stakeholders on tender inquiries and submissions.
* Represent the estimating team in management meetings and coordinate with other departments.
* Promote interaction with functional leaders to develop solutions to problems and estimates.
* Manage knowledge proactively within the estimating team for continuous improvement.
* Update resource databases in estimating software (Excel, Causeway, CCS, Kubus, etc.) with current cost information.
* Facilitate feedback and comparison of estimates versus actual costs with commercial managers.
