An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Tissue Viability Team for a Band Support Nurse.

Main duties of the job
·Using clinical knowledge and expertise, provide a high standard of skilled care to patients based on a full assessment of the individuals needs with relation to tissue viability, in consultation with the multi-professional team.
·To plan and evaluate care plans for patients with compromised skin integrity based on the assessment process, with realistic nursing goals in consultation with patients, family and the multi-professional team.
·To participate to the rota for the authorization of beds, mattresses and cushions from ICES.
·To ensure that the equipment is monitored and the patient needs are reviewed regularly in view of issued stock remaining relevant. This would include retrieving lost equipment and undertaking equipment audits combined with pressure ulcer audits.
·To ensure due regard to given customs, values and spiritual beliefs of patients, carers and their relatives.
·To ensure all written documentation adheres to the Trust’s documentation standards.
·To liaise daily with tissue viability team members.
·To take every reasonable opportunity to maintain and improve professional knowledge and competence, to comply with Nursing & Midwifery Council’s Professional Code of Conduct.
·Contribute to the collection of information to inform service development.
·To assist in the promotion, application and implication of the NICE, EPUAP and Trust recommendations in relation to pressure ulcer prevention.
