Job Overview

Do you have the drive and ambition to support changing the way ambulance services respond to patients? Do you have significant experience working as a Paramedic, are you innovative, and passionate about developing the Paramedic profession?

Your role as the Deputy Chief Paramedic Officer will be responsible for promoting clinical excellence at all levels of the organisation, working across multi-disciplinary teams.

Day to day, your job will be to ensure that the Paramedic profession continues to develop using the College of Paramedics career framework and advanced practice agenda.

You will need to work across the four pillars of professional practice and develop workforce plans that are future-ready.

South East Coast Ambulance is transforming the way we deliver services to our patients. We are in year two of our five-year clinically led strategy. This role will be instrumental in how we respond to and change our service.

Main duties of the job

1. Provide leadership, advice, and support to operational teams, heads of service, and senior colleagues on clinical practice and workforce planning. Be accountable for the safe, high-quality delivery of clinical care.
2. Represent the Trust in the wider health and care system, networking with external stakeholders to contribute to strategic planning and implementation. Play a key role in multidisciplinary clinical leadership across the Trust area.

Other than in exceptional circumstances, new NHS staff will start at the bottom of the pay band unless relevant NHS or equivalent experience is demonstrated.

Following legislation revision, the Trust recommends COVID-19 vaccination for patient-facing roles unless medically exempt. Successful applicants will be asked about their vaccine status.

All positions require a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check relevant to the post. The level of check will be specified in the offer letter.
