Education/Qualifications
Essential criteria
* Degree / Diploma in Physiotherapy
* HCPC registration
* Attendance at recent postgraduate courses relevant to the clinical rotations
Desirable criteria
* Membership of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy
* Involvement in Special Interest Groups
Knowledge and experience
Essential criteria
* Minimum of 18 months previous experience including at least 6 months in NHS
* Practical experience in a broad range of specialist areas such as orthopaedics, elderly care, neurology, respiratory, and musculoskeletal
* Experience working as part of a physiotherapy and/or multidisciplinary team
* Evidence of managing own caseload (punctuality, prioritisation, and time management)
Desirable criteria
* Previous experience as a Band 6
* Supervision of Band 5, students, or physiotherapy assistants
* On-call competence
* Two years’ experience as a qualified physiotherapist
Skills, abilities, and attributes
Essential criteria
* Evidence of keeping abreast with professional practice and new research
* Understanding of legal responsibilities of the profession
* Ability to present information clearly and logically, both written and oral
* Understanding of clinical governance, quality issues, and audit
* Ability to keep accurate documentation
* Ability to work within policies of data protection, equal opportunities, and health and safety
* Physical ability to carry out moderate to intense physical effort and multitask
* Ability to cope with stressful environments and emotional or aggressive patients and carers
