The role

Deputy Estates Manager
London Bridge Hospital
Full time
Permanent
Competitive salary

We’re looking for a Deputy Estates Manager to join our Estates team based in London Bridge Hospital. The Estates team plays a critical role in ensuring the hospital environment is safe, compliant, and fully operational at all times. From maintaining essential infrastructure to supporting clinical services with high-quality facilities management, the team underpins the delivery of exceptional patient care. This role is key in supporting the smooth running of the hospital estate, working closely with senior leadership and technical teams to uphold the highest standards across all facilities.

As a Deputy Estates Manager you’ll support the leadership and day-to-day management of the Estates function, ensuring statutory compliance and operational efficiency across the hospital site. Working in a fast-paced healthcare environment, the role offers variety and responsibility—from overseeing maintenance programmes to managing contractors and driving continuous improvement.

Collaboration is central to success in this position, partnering with clinical and non-clinical teams to ensure the estate meets the evolving needs of patients and colleagues. This is an excellent opportunity to step into a senior position within a highly respected organisation, where your expertise will directly contribute to a safe and high-performing hospital environment.

Above all else, we’re committed to the care and improvement of human life. It’s this guiding vision that influences everything we do at HCA UK. From the CEO to the colleagues on the floor we all have a part to play in delivering exceptional care to our patients. Other’s may think this is just a role in Estates, but to us, you’ll be part of a wider team with a unique sense of purpose, one that helps improve lives on a daily basis.

What you’ll do:

• Support the Estates Manager in delivering a safe, compliant and effective estates service across the hospital
• Oversee planned preventative maintenance and reactive works to ensure minimal disruption to clinical services
• Manage contractors and suppliers, ensuring work is delivered to agreed standards and within budget
• Monitor compliance with statutory regulations, health and safety standards, and internal policies
• Lead and support estates team members, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and high performance

What you’ll bring:

• Relevant technical qualification in engineering, building services, or estates management
• Proven experience in estates or facilities management within a complex environment
• Strong understanding of health and safety and statutory compliance requirements
• Experience managing contractors and overseeing maintenance programmes
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
