Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Senior Care Assistant to join our team in providing exceptional care to residents in a care home setting. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and a passion for supporting the elderly, ensuring their comfort and well-being. As a Senior Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in supervising care staff, implementing care plans, medication management and fostering a supportive environment for both residents and team members.
Duties
* Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility support.
* Supervise and mentor junior care staff, ensuring high standards of care are maintained.
* Develop and implement individualised care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals.
* Communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members to ensure continuity of care.
* Maintain accurate records of residents' progress and any changes in their condition.
* Support the residents with medication and monitor the effect of it
* Participate in training sessions to enhance IT skills relevant to care documentation and reporting.
Qualifications
* Previous experience in senior care or a similar role is essential.
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise and motivate a team effectively.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to engage with residents and their families.
* Knowledge of care plans and the ability to implement them accurately.
* A valid driving licence is preferred .
* A compassionate nature with a genuine desire to improve the quality of life for elderly individuals.
* IT proficiency for maintaining records and using care management software.
