Permanent Behaviour Mentor – Level 2, Keyham Lodge School.

Salary: Grade 9 (Pay Point 19‑22), starting salary approx £31,994.

Hours: 42 hours per week (standard support contract working hours 37 hours per week), 40 weeks per year (term time plus). Working pattern: Mon‑Thu 07:30‑16:30, Fri 08:30‑16:00.

About the Role

An exciting opportunity to join our behaviour and relationship team as a behaviour mentor. Lead pastoral interventions to support children’s social, emotional and mental health, emotional literacy and social interaction. Work with phase leads to ensure behaviour is well supported in classroom and maintain links between home and school. Develop flexible timetable to support well‑being and encourage reflection and responsibility.

Key Responsibilities

* Devise and implement behaviour and social skills interventions with individuals or small groups.
* Plan and organise programmes of provision delivered by support staff for pupils experiencing behavioural difficulties.
* Communicate with parents and outside agencies as part of intervention delivery and behaviour improvement strategies under SLT direction.
* Maintain records and collect data relating to behaviour.
* Provide a physical presence around the school during the school day.


What We’re Looking For


Qualifications

* NVQ Level 3 equivalent, relevant child and/or education focus.
* Good literacy and numeracy GCSE Maths and English or equivalent.
* Evidence of further accreditations/qualifications in BESD, social skills, SEND.


Experience

* Minimum 2 years working experience as a Level 3 teaching assistant in an educational setting.
* Experience working with primary aged children/young people and their families.
* Experience supporting children with identified additional needs, including emotional, social and behavioural difficulties.


Skills & Knowledge

* Knowledge of child protection and health and safety procedures.
* Knowledge of SEND Code of Practice and graduated approach.
* Knowledge of databases and ability to extract information and present reports.
