Core subject options include Maths, English, or Science. SEN / SEND Tutors for Young People with SEND, SEMH, and other Additional Educational Needs are required in Merseyside. Multiple positions are available; hiring is ongoing to meet a wide variety of needs.
At Targeted Provision our mission is to raise the standard of educational support offered to vulnerable young people in the UK. You will be supported throughout every placement by our team of SEN / SEND Support Specialists.
The SEN / SEND Tutor role
* Provide Maths, English, or Science tuition to young people with SEND, SEMH, MLD/SLD, or other Additional Educational Needs referred to Targeted Provision
* Work with young people referred by local authorities and schools, providing educational and social-emotional support
* Deliver flexible and holistic trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring
Tutor tasks and responsibilities
* Plan each tutoring/mentoring session
* Provide holistic, engaging sessions aligned with the young person’s needs and progress
* Complete lesson reports and provide feedback on progress
Tutor requirements
* Professional Teaching Qualifications (QTS / QTLS)
* Minimum 2 years teaching experience
* Experience with SEND, SEMH, MLD/SLD, and/or other Additional Educational Needs
* Experience, knowledge, and understanding of safeguarding processes
* Enhanced DBS (assistance to obtain at cost if needed)
* Two professional references
* Must be based in the UK with the right to work in the UK for remote/online assignments
It is a strict requirement that you promote the health, safety and wellbeing of children and young people and follow safeguarding policies and procedures at all times.
Employment status
* This position involves working as a Worker on short-term engagements as they arise
* Contract for service; paid via PAYE
* No guaranteed hours or expenses coverage
* Our insurance covers the work you do for us
* Not a self-employed tutoring/teaching position
