Main duties of the job
Your Mission in Financial Leadership:
6. Deliver a robust financial strategy and annual corporate plan, safeguarding our long-term sustainability.
7. Ensure rigorous adherence to Standing Financial Instructions and industry best practices.
8. Shape budgets that are realistic, balanced, and aligned with service goals and available resources.
9. Oversee cash flow, forecasting, and risk management to ensure stability and liquidity.
10. Modernise financial systems, procedures, and controls for maximum efficiency.
11. Keep the Board informed on financial performance, risks, and opportunities — always with clarity and candour.
12. Align financial planning with our quality strategies, ensuring resources support safe staffing, infection prevention, and patient wellbeing.

Experience
Essential criteria
13. Significant experience as a Board level Finance Officer in the NHS, preferably within the provider sector
14. Able to demonstrate a proven track record of achievement in the role of Chief Finance Officer
15. Experience of all aspects of financial management in the NHS
16. Experience of delivering large scale efficiency programmes
Qualifications
Essential criteria
17. Possession of CCAB Accountancy qualification
18. Evidence of continuous personal and professional development.
