We have a great opportunity available to join Novus, our prison education provider at HMP Manchester, working as a Deputy Local Education Manager. This role is offered on a permanent, full-time basis, working 37 hours per week.

HMP Manchester is a Category A and B men's prison in Manchester, England. Established in 1868 and designed by Alfred Waterhouse, it is known for its iconic ventilation tower and long-standing role as a high-security facility. HMP Manchester serves as a local prison for remanded prisoners awaiting trial and sentencing, as well as those serving long-term sentences and is committed to rehabilitation, offering educational programs, vocational training, and support services aimed at reducing reoffending.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience
* Teaching qualification - minimum Cert Ed or PGCE
* Hold at least a Level 2 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy
* Track record of developing, leading and managing a team effectively
* Track record of managing colleagues including the deployment of those colleagues and appropriate delegation of tasks
* Track record of implementing and managing continuous quality assurance and improvement procedures
* Track record of successful partnership working
* Effective Communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to motivate and enthuse teams
* Organisational skills to prioritise workload to meet challenging deadlines and targets
* Analysing trends and identifying impact on curriculum
* IT skills
* Contract management skills
* The successful candidate must have experience delivering functional skills as the role will require management and cover of Functional Skills staff
