About Us

Are you ready to embark on a career with a company that places both its employees and customers at the heart of everything we do? If you're a motivated, customer-focused individual with a can-do attitude, we want to hear from you.

You’ll fit in well with us at Medstrom, where we have disrupted the market by providing proven and well-evidenced products and services to our busy customers, helping to make a real difference to both their workload and crucially their patients’ outcomes.

Established in 2010, Medstrom has grown substantially by being patient-focused to become the organisation we are today, whilst maintaining an open culture and ethos. In 2022 Medstrom became an Employee Ownership Trust (EOT), unlike any other company in the industry. This allows each employee to have a vested interest in the company, where we can all contribute to and share in the company’s success.

We’re now looking for a dedicated Manufacturing Quality Engineer to join us on a permanent, full-time basis, to support our Manufacturing team.

The Benefits

- Basic starting salary of £45,000 p.a.
- Contributory Pension scheme
- Discounts and cashback on shopping, supermarkets and holidays as part of our rewards scheme
- 33 days’ annual leave entitlement
- Full Induction with great training and support from dedicated team members
- Receive a treat on your birthday
- Death in service benefit available
- Salary sacrifice schemes including Cycle to Work
- Be a part of an Employee Ownership Trust (EOT) and the associated benefits of having a stake in the company

The Role

With responsibility for all aspects of manufacturing quality assurance and quality control, you will support the business in aligning, improving and maintaining ISO13485 processes, to ensure full compliance. This will also involve compliance with all internal Quality Management Systems, H&S and Environmental requirements.

This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with previous experience of QMS and ISO13485 to develop and grow within a thriving organisation.

- Perform inspection and verification of completed products to ensure compliance with specifications
- Identify non-conforming parts for rework or rejection and maintain detailed inspection records
- Log and report quality issues to the Manufacturing Manager, including root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Implement and oversee clear acceptance and rejection procedures with proper documentation
- Issue non-conformance reports (NCRs) and track corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
- Support and monitor quality inspection procedures and work instructions in collaboration with the Manufacturing Manager and Quality & Continuous Improvement (CI) Manager
- Interpret engineering drawings, including dimensioning and tolerances, to ensure product accuracy
- Maintain an organised and efficient workspace, ensuring compliance with 5S and lean manufacturing principles
- Assist in quality data analysis to support continuous improvement initiatives
- Maintain and monitor raw material and component inventory to prevent shortages or defects
- Complete and update relevant IT systems and maintain daily/weekly reports

Working week: Monday to Friday, working 37.5 hours per week.

About You

To be considered as a Manufacturing Quality Engineer, you will need:

- Experience of working with quality management software, ideally in a manufacturing environment
- Strong attention to detail with proven analytical skills
- Experience of working in a fast-paced environment and achieving strict production deadlines under pressure
- A strong level of IT literacy with experience of common desktop applications including Excel and Word
- The ability to generate detailed, high-quality documentation
- The ability to perform and/or manage multiple tasks and projects
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate positively and effectively with others
