About The Role
We are looking to appoint an Asset Management Officer to join our Property & Assets team, providing day to day support to the Councils facilities and asset management function.
This role focuses on the routine and planned maintenance of Council buildings and facilities, supporting statutory compliance, health and safety requirements and effective facilities management across the Councils property and estates portfolio.

You will work closely with colleagues, tenants, contractors and consultants to ensure maintenance activities are coordinated efficiently and delivered to the required standard.

The role is well suited to someone with experience in facilities management, asset management or property maintenance, who is organised, practical and confident working in a site based, operational environment.
In this role, you will:
Support the day to day delivery of facilities and asset management services across the Councils property portfolio
Assist with the management and maintenance of Council land, buildings and facilities
Undertake site visits and inspections to identify, record and manage responsive and planned maintenance requirements
Support statutory compliance and health and safety requirements relating to Council buildings
Specify works, obtain quotations, meet contractors and ensure required documentation is in place
Monitor works on site, ensuring completion to the required standard and reviewing invoices for payment
Liaise professionally with staff and tenants regarding repairs, alterations and facilities related requests
Support planned maintenance programmes and project works when required
Monitor contractor performance, including routine and grounds maintenance contracts
Deliver minor maintenance and facilities support within administrative buildings, including furniture moves and contractor supervision
Maintain accurate records and produce inspection reports using Council systems
Work in accordance with policy, procedures, legislation and health and safety requirements

To be successful in this role, you will have:
Experience of facilities management, asset management or property maintenance
Knowledge of procurement processes and construction/maintenance contracts
Experience supervising and working with contractors, consultants or service providers
Strong organisational skills with good attention to detail
The ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with colleagues, tenants and contractors
Good IT skills and confidence working with digital systems
A flexible and hands on approach to supporting day to day service delivery
Desirable:
Experience working within a local authority or public sector environment
You will need
Experience of working in local government or similar environment
Good level of IT skills and aptitude to learn bespoke packages
Excellent verbal and written skills
Special Conditions
Full UK Driving Licence
Ability to travel and access to a vehicle for work purposes
Flexibility to work additional hours where service needs require
Willingness to work at alternative locations
