The Kelly Group is seeking a Technical Support Engineer to join our team in St Helens. In this role, you will support our field-based Install (CAD and CED) engineers by resolving technical issues promptly to prevent delays in critical work.
Role
As a Technical Support Engineer, you will be the primary contact for our field engineers when technical challenges occur. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Providing real-time technical support via phone or video calls to assist field engineers in resolving issues that may delay installation work.
2. Analyzing and validating network issues using specialized network mapping software to find effective solutions.
3. Troubleshooting technical faults and offering immediate support to minimize work disruptions.
4. Facilitating clear and effective communication between office-based and field engineers.
What We’re Looking For
We seek a candidate with a strong telecoms background who thrives in a dynamic, supportive environment. The ideal candidate will have:
1. Extensive knowledge of telecom networks, including Overhead (OH) and Underground (UG) networks, preferably fibre optic.
2. Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining technical issues clearly to field engineers.
3. Basic computer skills, including familiarity with network mapping software and troubleshooting tools.
4. A problem-solving mindset, able to think quickly and find solutions under pressure.
