We’re currently working with a busy, specialist marine refit and repair team who are looking to take on an experienced Shipwright to join their expanding team of craftsmen.
This is a fantastic opportunity to be involved in repairs, refurbishments, and refits across a wide range of military and commercial vessels. The role is primarily based at a busy Gosport yard, with occasional travel to other waterfront sites in the UK. Due to the nature of the work, you will need to complete a DBS check to gain a Dockyard pass.
What you’ll be doing
Carrying out maintenance, repair, and refit works on commercial and military vessels
Working with wood, composites, and other specialist marine materials
Supporting the waterfront team when required
Delivering high-quality workmanship with close attention to detail
Balancing independent work with collaborative team projects
Assisting with general yard duties as and when required
What we’re looking for
Shipwright/boatbuilding background with strong marine industry experience
Practical knowledge of vessel maintenance and repair methods
Skilled in using timber, composites, and other materials
Organised, reliable, and able to problem-solve on the job
Flexible and adaptable, with good time management
Full UK driving licence
