London Fire Brigade (LFB) is London’s Fire and Rescue Service – one of the largest firefighting and rescue organisations in the world. We are here to make London a safer city.

We employ over 5,500 people, across our operational team (our firefighters), control (our call handlers who answer your 999 calls) and our non-operational team (our teams who work behind the scenes to support our front-line services, including HR, IT, Finance, Procurement, Communications etc.).

Be part of the Grenfell Memory Project: Make a Lasting Impact

The Grenfell Memory Project is a vital part of the Restorative Justice commitment made by LFB as part of the Civil Settlement Agreement with Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) claimants in March 2023. Through this agreement, the Brigade has pledged £8.25 million to develop a lasting and meaningful legacy that honours the 72 lives lost in the Grenfell Tower fire and supports the ongoing healing and recovery of the Community.

We are now recruiting for a key role in this important initiative. Working closely with the Consultation and Engagement Lead, the successful candidate will play a central role in delivering an inclusive, robust, and comprehensive public consultation. This role is critical not only to the success of the Grenfell Memory Project but also in helping to ensure that London Fire Brigade continues to be a trusted organisation that protects and serves all Londoners.

Key Responsibilities

* Lead the delivery of a wide range of consultation and engagement activities, ensuring that individuals and communities affected by the Grenfell tragedy can shape the development of the Memory Project.
* Recruit and support advisory groups, including families of the deceased, former residents, and local stakeholders.
* Build strong relationships with multiple stakeholders to align the Memory Project with LFB’s wider strategic goals.
* Support community recovery by participating in LFB’s Incident Response rota, offering assistance to communities affected by serious incidents across London.

* Strong facilitation skills, especially in running focus groups and sensitive conversations with diverse communities.
* A flexible, values-driven approach and a passion for amplifying community voices to help shape a meaningful legacy.

Eligibility

Minimum 3 years working within a large public sector organisation serving a large and diverse community.
