HGV Mechanic Opportunity
We are currently seeking a skilled HGV Technician to provide service, maintenance, and breakdown support for a fleet of circa 30 HGVs at our site. This role is an additional headcount as we look to grow the existing team. All hours worked over 42.5 hours are paid at time and a half.
HGV Mechanic Duties
1. Carry out routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on heavy goods vehicles
2. Attend vehicle breakdowns as needed
3. Prepare and present vehicles for annual MOT tests
4. Manage your own workload to ensure maximum fleet uptime
5. Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and body system issues
6. Accurately record maintenance, repairs, and parts usage
HGV Mechanic Experience Required
1. Qualified HGV Technician with at least 3 years’ post-apprenticeship experience
2. Strong technical and product knowledge
3. Excellent diagnostic and computer skills
4. Knowledge of refuse collection vehicles is desirable
