Job Description:
NHS Scotland is committed to encouraging equality and diversity among our workforce and eliminating unlawful discrimination. The aim is for our workforce to be truly representative and for each employee to feel respected and able to give their best. NHS Scotland welcomes applications from all sections of society.
We are seeking two highly motivated and enthusiastic individuals to join our friendly and progressive Obstetrics and Gynaecology service in Ayrshire for 12 months, with the possibility of extension by mutual agreement.
The positions primarily involve delivering gynaecology services, including outpatient clinics and contributions to gynaecology procedures such as colposcopy. The team of 20 consultants shares obstetric and gynaecology on-call duties. We also welcome applicants with additional skills that could benefit the department.
We value candidates with leadership qualities who can contribute to service development, particularly in quality improvement and safety initiatives.
Applicants must hold full GMC registration with a License to Practice and be on the Specialist Register. RCOG ATSM qualifications (or equivalent experience) in Advanced Labour Ward Practice and other relevant Gynaecological ATSMs (e.g., Gynaecological Oncology, Benign abdominal surgery, laparoscopic procedures) are required.
The terms and conditions follow the Scottish 2004 Consultant contract, with posts offering 9 and 8 programmed activities respectively, with potential for increase through mutual agreement.
For further information, please contact Dr. Inna Sokolova, Clinical Director of Gynaecology, at 01563 825491.
The closing date for applications is 4th March 2025.
