About the role
Are you passionate about Industry 4.0, IIoT, and the role technology plays in our operations? We have an exciting opportunity to join our Information Services team as a Project Engineer.
Operational Technology (OT) is at the core of our operations, enabling remote monitoring and control of our assets. You will support our efforts to deliver clean drinking water to our customers while protecting the environment.
Reporting to the Head of Operational Technology, you will be responsible for configuring and testing remote telemetry systems (RTUs), field devices, and communication with our regional SCADA system. You will collaborate with service providers and internal teams to commission new or updated assets and ensure our systems are safe, secure, and compliant with standards and legislation.
About you
You should have knowledge of instrumentation, process control, and measurement systems such as flow meters, online analytics, and pressure instruments. Experience with wide area telemetry and plant fieldbus systems is essential.
Proven experience in a SCADA configuration environment, preferably with devices using the WITS DNP3 open protocol, is required. An educational background in engineering, electronics, or IT, along with an understanding of network fundamentals and cybersecurity, is necessary.
You must have fault-finding skills within SCADA & telemetry systems and knowledge of current and emerging OT technologies. Excellent customer service skills, the ability to communicate complex information clearly, and the ability to work under pressure are also important.
