Role: Document Controller
Location: London (office-based with hybrid flexibility as agreed)
Salary: Up to £50,000 per annum
Our client is a boutique property developer with nearly three decades of experience in London. The company specialises in delivering high-quality, design-led residential and commercial developments across the city. Their portfolio includes both mixed-use schemes and purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA)
Key Responsibilities:
* Maintain and organise all documentation related to development projects—including planning applications, drawings, contracts, approvals, revisions, RFI logs, correspondence and compliance records.
* Control versioning across teams (land, planning, construction, property management), ensuring the latest documents are widely accessible and outdated versions are archived.
* Establish folder structures, naming conventions, metadata tagging and archiving procedures.
* Support project managers and architects with timely distribution, tracking and logging of documents to internal and external stakeholders.
* Administer document control systems (e.g. SharePoint, Aconex or equivalent) and train users in standardised practices.
* Conduct quality checks on document integrity, format consistency and audit-ready setup; support site inspections and internal/external audits.
* Respond to requests from stakeholders—project team, consultants, local authority—with accurate documents and traceable records.
Skills & Experience:
* Prior experience as a Document Controller or Administrator in property development, construction, engineering or architecture.
* Familiarity with document management systems (e.g. SharePoint, Aconex, ProjectWise), and Microsoft Office suite.
* Detail-oriented mindset; strong version-control discipline and accuracy.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to interact across multifunctional teams.
* Understanding of compliance requirements (planning, H&S, procurement).
* Proactive, organised, and solution-minded in a fast-moving environment.
