Responsibilities
for this Civil Site Manager role:
1. Directing and managing site operations to ensure project efficiency, safety, and compliance
2. Providing technical oversight, supervising civil engineering tasks, and ensuring industry standards are upheld
3. Identifying and mitigating risks while adhering to regulatory and safety requirements
4. Conducting quality inspections and implementing corrective measures where necessary
5. Coordinating pre-start preparations, including RAMS, contracts, and program setup
6. Liaising with the Project Manager to determine plant and resource requirements
7. Ensuring strict compliance with contractual obligations and industry regulations
8. Monitoring project progress, managing schedules, and maintaining budget adherence
9. Maintaining effective communication with stakeholders, promptly address early warnings
10. Upholding health, safety, and environmental standards to ensure a secure working environment
Experience Required for this Civil Site Manager role:
11. Proven experience in Civils Site Management within the water and utilities industry
12. Valid CSCS Managers Card (Level 6+), SMSTS, CPCS Lift Supervision & Signalling, EUSR Blue Card, Full UK Driving Licence
13. In-depth knowledge of CDM2015 regulations and Principal Contractor responsibilities
14. IOSH or NEBOSH certification (completed or in progress) with a strong focus on health & safety
15. Proficiency in NEC 3 & 4 contracts and understanding of Bill of Quantities (BoQ)
16. Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications
17. Strong leadership, organisational, and problem-solving abilities
18. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
19. Assertive, adaptable, and committed to maintaining the highest safety and quality standards.
