Overview
NHS Lanarkshire are looking to recruit a Charge Nurse - Mental Health, based within Cleland Hospital. The post holder will manage and deliver care to a defined caseload or group of clients and patients and will be responsible for delivering and ensuring the application of the Nursing Process and case‑management framework as appropriate.
They will ensure a high standard of quality client and patient care, working in partnership with other disciplines and agencies. The charge nurse has delegated responsibility for the appraisal, management and clinical supervision of Registered Nurses, junior practitioners and clinical support workers in the provision of care and treatment within a defined clinical service, under the management and leadership of the team leader / senior charge nurse or practitioner.
Qualifications
 * Registered Nurse – MH with valid NMC Registration
 * Educated to or working towards a Degree level
 * Post‑graduate expertise within the speciality or area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge to lead safety, effectively and efficiently
 * Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality or area of practice
 * Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies and procedures associated with the speciality or area of practice ensuring that the level of expertise can be utilised to deliver leadership within speciality or area of practice
 * Leadership skills to enable the day‑to‑day management of service delivery
 * Further education/evidence of Continuous Professional Development in the area of speciality including study days, courses or post‑graduate qualifications
 * Excellent team‑working and leadership skills, ability to motivate others and work using own initiative
 * Excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills
 * Effective time‑management skills
 * Working knowledge of basic information technology
Additional Preferred Experience
 * Completion of mentorship training
 * Study days, courses or post‑graduate qualification in relevant clinical field
 * Completion of suicide prevention training
 * Completion of 10 ESCs
Contract Details
Permanent, full‑time, 37 hours per week. The role is based in Older People Mental Health within Cleland Hospital. Working pattern: 5 days from 7.
