This position is a per diem position that requires: 4-12 hour shifts per month with 2 of the days being on the weekend.
Our psych units work 12-hour shifts available - 6:30am - 7:00pm or 6:30pm - 7:00am.
Our chemical dependency unit shift available 8-hour shifts- 2:30pm-11pm
The Mental Health Technician functions as an active part of the treatment team, providing continuous patient care, supervision, interaction and role modeling to patients ranging in ages from adolescent through geriatrics. All MHT’s work under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
* Monitors unit milieu and helps to maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients
* Leads activity groups for patients according to the program schedule
* Conducts patient observation rounds throughout the shift to ensure safety
* Works collaboratively with unit nursing staff on patient care activitiesResponds to patient crisis events accordingly using de-escalation techniques.

Qualifications
Mental Health Tech Job Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in a psychology-related field is highly preferred
* High School Diploma or GED required.
* Valid Driver's License with safe driving record
