Critical part of the work we do is the daily upkeep of the rail network. As an Operative, you'll work in a small team supporting essential maintenance to keep the railway running safely and smoothly for passengers and freight users.

About the role (External)
Operatives specialize in various disciplines, but for this role, you'll become a specialist in Works Delivery Track. Operatives work outdoors in all conditions, day or night, often transporting equipment across challenging terrain. Safety, respect for rules, and teamwork are critical, especially when working near moving trains at high speeds.
You matter to your team: You're the first to arrive and the last to leave, checking equipment and driving the team between sites. You support maintenance tasks and provide lookout duties to ensure safety.
You matter to us: Your commitment to self-development is vital. We provide training to develop technical and non-technical skills, enabling you to progress into roles like Technician or Team Leader.
Your skills matter: You don't need rail experience but should demonstrate:

* Safe working practices (including drug and alcohol testing, medical assessments)
* Driving license (category B)
* Within a 60-minute commute of the location
