Job description - the role

We partner with Arup to support their contingent recruitment processes. Acting as an extension of their recruitment teams, we connect them with skilled interim and temporary professionals, fostering workplaces where everyone can contribute and succeed.
On Behalf of Arup, we are looking for a number of Document Controllers for a 12 month contract based in Reading. Please note this position is going to be hybrid and you will be required to work from the office 3 days/week.
Candidate Profile: Key accountabilities, skills & experience
Purpose of the role:
The Document Controller will work with limited supervision. They will be responsible for discrete tasks within their own area. The role offers the opportunity to broaden knowledge of systems and processes and to become an integral member of the team.
The Document Controller reports to the Document Control Hub Manager and ultimately to the Group Leader.
What you'll do:
Follow project guidelines with ease to log in, record and upload deliverables
Registers; Logs and Tracks TQs & RFIs using project processes
Maintain project specific guidance notes and records
Keep up to date with policy, procedure and seek advice with problems.
Record and submit time spent on projects
Plan own workload
Access guidance on standards for collaboration
Identify issues and deal with them independently or escalate where appropriate
Attend and contribute to local Document Control team meetings
May attend project meetings
Tracking; reporting and chasing time sensitive deliverables
Support and provide cover for others in your discipline and location
Professionally communicate with relevant individuals as requested by the business
Identify processes within the role which could be improved
Obtain compliant drawing / document numbers
Verifying and quality checking documentation prior to issue.
Uploading and downloading incoming and outgoing correspondence from multiple Extranet Sites.
The skills you'll need:
Should be enthusiastic and self-motivated about gaining and sharing new relevant skills, knowledge and developing new skills for the future

Able to work collaboratively across a remote team
Works accurately, quickly, and independently

Understanding of the importance of accurate and correctly stored data
Interested to develop knowledge and know when to ask for help
Willingness to learn from others
Good knowledge of Microsoft packages
Interested in new digital tools and methods
Experience of high-volume accurate data entry
Desirable Skills and Knowledge:
Good knowledge of multiple extranet sites
Experience with working on high profile Data Centre's although not essential as full training will be provided
Understand the basic principles behind workload planning and its relevance
Be open to new ways of working
Good knowledge of document control systems
