Key Responsibilities
Support the Chief Solicitor in delivering efficient and effective legal services to the Council.
Conduct legal research and provide sound advice on local government law and childcare-related matters.
Prepare and manage legal proceedings, including drafting applications, reports, and relevant documentation.
Attend court hearings and meetings, ensuring proper conduct and representation by the local authority.
Handle a caseload of childcare and protection cases under supervision, ensuring compliance with all legal standards.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of childcare legislation, local authority law, and practice management standards.
Provide advocacy on behalf of the local authority and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
Maintain accurate records, monitor legal developments, and assist in drafting briefing notes or policy updates.
