Join us as a Engineering Manager at our Winfirth site, where you will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology in partnership with some of the most brilliant minds.Role Purpose:Ensuring that the Maritime Ranges sites and facilities are safe, fit for use and available.Key Accountabilities:Setting out and monitoring the competency/development programme to competent range technicians for all the Maritime Ranges facilities – 15 personsDelivery management of the Maritime Ranges Engineering leads – 5 personsEnsuring all Maritime Ranges facilities are managed in accordance with their Through Life Support Strategy (TLSS) and maintenance schedule by competent staff, and that all defects are managed to conclusionKey input to the investment projects delivering into Maritime Ranges –stakeholder/Customer, and acts to influence and accept at each stageLead the replacement of equipment for obsolescence whilst innovating to deliver efficiency and enhancementInput to and drive forward Maritime Ranges strategyKey Capabilities/Knowledge:Communication skills utilising a variety of methods appropriate to the audience and situationCollaborative team workingStrong engineering and technical knowledgeGood understanding of health, safety, environmental and quality arrangementsKnowledge of relevant legislation, regulation, standards and guidanceAbility to effectively communicate and work collaboratively with people at all levels, both internal and externalMethodical and Logical approachGood level of IT competenceExperience & Qualifications:General engineering and operations background: Technical/engineering background is essentialDemonstrable track record of successful engineering managementChartered Engineer (or equivalent) is desirableNEBOSH / IOSH Managing safely is desirableExperience of process/continuous improvement activitiesWhy Join QinetiQ?As we continue to grow into new markets around the world, there’s never been a more exciting time to join QinetiQ.
