Co-ordinators will be called upon from a pool of available commissioned Contractors. Purpose: It is an exciting time to join the new Family Group Conference, Mediation and Advocacy Service in Slough Children First and be part of a new team and service as it evolves and develops. All FGC Coordinators will be trained in Family Group Conferences, Mediation and Advocacy to ensure that the team have full expertise, skills, and training to meet the demands and challenges of these new service offers in SCF. These voluntary processes ensure that children, young people, adults, and families, are appropriately supported to understand the concerns of professionals and are empowered or indeed repowered to utilise their knowledge, skills, and resources to make sure their agreed plans are safe, sustainable and future focused. Main Responsibilities: To facilitate and deliver high quality Family Group Conferences (FGC) for Slough Children First, in accordance with the identified policies, practice standards and aims of the Family Group Conference Service. To promote and develop Slough Children First Family Group Conference service within a framework of equality of opportunity that responds appropriately to the needs of individual families from diverse backgrounds. To support families to make safe decisions and plans for children within the context of a Family Group Conference; strengthening family involvement and relational ways of working to achieve best outcomes for children. The FGC Coordinator negotiates, facilitates, mediates, and advocates early intervention and preventative processes in a variety of settings that keep the child’s, children, young people, and adults’ voices at the forefront within key decision-making forums, which evidences positive outcome impacts.
