At The Grange, we are looking to appoint a skilled and dedicated School Social Worker who will also lead our whole-school pastoral provision. This is a unique opportunity to blend frontline child and family support with strategic influence — ensuring that behaviour, wellbeing, and inclusion are rooted in empathy, consistency and connection.
About the role:
As our School Social Worker / Strategic Pastoral Lead, you will:

• Deliver targeted interventions and build positive, trusting relationships with vulnerable families
• Oversee and shape our relational behaviour systems, including restorative practice and graduated responses
• Support staff in implementing trauma-informed approaches across school
• Represent the school in multi-agency meetings and coordinate referrals and action plans
• Work closely with the SENDCo, DSL and SLT to plan for pupils with SEMH needs
• Lead a small pastoral team, ensuring consistency, clarity and compassion in our pupil support
We are looking for someone who:
• Has a recognised qualification in social work or significant equivalent experience in family support/safeguarding
• Understands the importance of relational practice and is confident applying restorative approaches
• Can lead and inspire others in creating emotionally safe, predictable environments for pupils
• Has a thorough knowledge of Early Help, safeguarding frameworks, and multi-agency working
• Is resilient, reflective, and passionate about improving outcomes for children and families
• Is confident supporting staff in behaviour-related situations, using a coaching, non-judgemental approach
